FWIW, may I suggest never posting your email address on Usenet unless
it is pretty seriously altered. ROT 13 seems to be sufficient though
I prefer something less straightforward than a simple ROT 13 of an
otherwise unaltered address. I also avoid a display name that has any
similarity or linkage to a valid email address (superstitious I
suppose). Use Mail2Web or some utility such as mailwasher to delete
spam and viruses from the server before downloading. Use spam filters
if your account has them. Use the most restrictive cookie setting you
consider practical and the same for other browser settings. Well
configured firewall of course with appropriate rules, tweaks and
"workaround" solutions. Shields Up ( is very helpful
IMO and really increases awareness of browser referrer information and
use of techniques to limit what info is transmitting this way. Use
the Immunize feature of Spybot Search And Destroy (current version).
Run Spybot and AdAware frequent Use other precautions as seem
appropriate. Try to think of all this as a challenge to be solved
rather like solving puzzles in IF.

You've got a large key, a book and no tea.
