Hi all.

I'm doing a project at work that requires linux. I've installed Ubuntu 8.10 on my desktop but also need to use the -same- program (same setup, same files, etc) on my HP laptop, so I did the desktop ubuntu installation on a USB HD. It works fine on my desktop, but my laptop won't boot from the USB HD at all.

Any ideas as to why? I'm not all that familiar with USB ports but I've noted that the USB HD will only boot on the USB ports on the back of my computer and not the USB ports on the front ... I'm guessing the laptop USB ports are the same as the ones on the front of my desktop. Any way to fix this?
