How to find system password for dell computers

No idea what has happened all electrics went off and when restarted computer the Dell start up page came up but then went straight to 'enter system password and press enter'. I have never seen this before and I have no idea what the password could be. Even when I press F2 or F12 it still shows the same message. Any ideas (its not Dell)

If it is a stubborn issue, reset it to factory defaults by removing the RTC battery (Lithium CR 2032) and re-installing the battery after 10 minutes. Then restart the computer.
