I am using WinXP.

I have a new desktop system that I just built, I wanted to try out a dual monitor setup. I was wondering if it was possible to do this with the monitor on my notebook.

I keep doing searches but they're all for just an additional stand alone monitor.

Easiest would be to mount your desktop monitor onto our laptop and activate Windows Extended Desktop function.

Thanks for the suggestion but my desktop is new and way more powerful at crunching through Photoshop and Illustrator than my notebook. It takes almost 5x to 8x longer on the notebook than my desktop. Photoshop and Illustrator are the reasons I want the extra realestate to be on my notebook.
