Laptop cant connect to the internet via Local Area Network or Wireless

Hi, I have Dell inspiron E1505 laptop with windows xp pro service pack 3 and all of a sudden the I can't connect to the internet with either my LAN or wireless. The LAN says "network cable unplugged" and the wireless says "Acquiring network address".... I don't know what the problem is, I have tried so many things. I went to the command prompt and reset winsock and reset.log, checked DHCP and that was started and run automatically. I tried Ipconfig and no IP address is showing, it says 0.0.0.0. I am starting to thing i have bad NIC or something. Can someone try helping me out? Thanks
