I purchased a used computer pentium3. when I attached it with the monitor
andsstarted, data specifiations screen appeared then windows XP screen
appeard so far ok, as soon as mouse pointer appeared I could see 3 pointers
at the same time. this problem remains there when computer has booted fully
and desktop is shown. i restartd many times but problem is still there.

Sounds like the puter has its refresh rate pumped higher than the monitor can
handle.

Try turning it down by booting into safe mode and choosing something between
60 and 75 Hz.

Booting in safe mode:
