Greetings,

This post contains mild *spoilers*

I have visited the Unreal City, at the end of which you are transported
back to the estate's garden. As I cannot find a way in, I have come to
entertain the idea that I should have opened the coal bunker from the
inside first, and that I am now stuck. Is this true, and is it thus
necessary for me to go back to before I went to the Unreal City? If it
is not true, please leave it at that and let me try and figure out the
solution. :)

Thanks in advance,
Victor Gijsbers

As it happens, you are not stuck. That is all.

IIRC, you are struck (in spite of Michael's claim to the contrary).

I checked the invisiclues and they seem to confirm what I thought.

This is a version difference; there is a means of re-entering the
house in R14 and later that wasn't present in earlier versions (added
to get around exactly this point). Check what version your hints are
for.
