i am goign to be buliding a new computer in december, specs will be sumthign like x800xt AIW, and amd 3800+//fx-53. what i am planing to do is intense downloading, alot of gaming, and i was wonder if i should get 2gb of ram, any good suggestions of ram, sumthing that comes in a 1gbx2stick pack. I am willing to spend a bit of extra $$$. maby the cosair series of sumthing like that thanx....

I'm not sure about newer systems but usually when you go over 1GB you actually start losing performance. 1GB is the optimum balance of performance and RAM. I would go with some nice Corsair XMS or Crucial Ballistix. Mainly because I have never had problems with Corsair or Crucial for compatability and performance.

yea i agree with folken
Stay with 1gb, Instead get memmory with better timmings I have the corsair 2-2-2-5 they are really great

Unless you are planning on doing a lot of video editing I would recommend using 1gig of memory for your system. We have found that anything over one gig of memory does not help performance, it actually begins to decrease it.Stick with 2 512MBs of memory and save your money for other hardware.
