i bought 2 new hard drive recently, one is 120gb another 250gb, initially i
installed winxp pro on the 120gb hdd but the hdd failed the next morning so
i've to send back for warranty claim, therefore i was force to install my
winxp pro to the 250gb hdd. after the 120gb hdd came back from warranty i
tired to ghost everything back to the 120gb but after that i couldn't boot up
from either one of the hdd, it kept on saying that i need to do a chkdsk/f..
but it will boot up if i put in the winxp installation cd in my dvd-rom. any
idea on how to i solve this problem or do i have to reformat everything
again?...

And also, check your boot sequence and drive letter.
