My friend has a dell inspiron 1525, he tried to turn it on one day, it wouldnt boot windows vista 32bit home. It gets to the loading screen, with the bar, and then a quick BSOD and restarts. ran memtest for 10 hours, no reported errors, tried booting from last known good config to no avail, wont boot in safe mode, diagnostic screen wont go, nothing, any ideas? Can get into Bios no problem tho

Run a test on the hard disk to see if it's working alright. Make sure you unplug and external peripherals that may be causing a driver conflict.

It turned out the hard drive was in fact the issue, thanks
