i'm so confused! I was planning to get one of those 1680 x 1050 resolution lcd monitors probably the FUJITSU SIEMENS L22-1W which is 16:10.

But then i found out that games are supposed to be played on 720 p or 1080 p which are 16:9 formatted.

So if i buy the monitor i was originally planning to, my games will look mishaped? Or i will get black bars on the sides restraining the image seen?

OMG i got so confused, i 've been searching all day and it seems i have to start all over. Can you help me? Which would be the correct resolution for the monitor i must buy? I really can't afford the 1900 x 1200 ones, i was going for something as much as 550 euros.

Thank you.

If the monitor supports 1:1 scaling, then it will put the black bars around it.

However, you may even be able to use 16:10 ratio on the Xbox (you can on a computer; and the Xbox computer based), then again you may only be able to pick TV ratios, I don't know.

The best thing would be, not to support scaling so as not to change the image at all, right? I can't find that anywhere in the monitor's manual, is there anyone who knows for sure, what will happen to the games if i plug the 360 to a 1680 x 1050 Fujitsu L22 - 1w monitor?
