Hi,
I know one of the panel types uses the glossy finish to enhance colors. Which on is it? I quite can't stand it (been working on such a few times at school) and would like to know which panels to avoid (I'm closely following the Samsung 215TW now, which should run on S-PVA panel)
Panel type and the coating that produces a glossy or matte finish are separate items.
The following are some names used for the glossy finish:
Sony - xbrite
NEC - opticlear
Acer - crystalbrite
Benq - not sure if senseye is the glossy finish or something else.

I guess you can't get a notebook... nearly all of them these days have brite screen.
"Built into BenQ monitors is the Senseye IPU (Image Processing Unit). Featuring advanced image enhancement technology, it optimizes contrast and sharpness, giving ultimate clarity and depth.
Unlike conventional monitors, Senseye separates color signals and adjusts each one individually, thus avoiding distortion and delivering an all-round richer experience."
