I bought a new HDD from newegg...but when i pop in win xp pro and go to format it doesn't recognize that there is a HDD, but i have ubuntu installed just fine (testing to see if it was the HDD that was dead) can any1 help please
I had a similar issue. you have to go into the disk management in the administrative tools and initialize the disk. After that you can format it and create your partitions just fine. If that doesn't solve it post up a reply and I'll see what I can do to help.
