Just thought I'd contribute what I've learned to the general body of knowledge.
Last week I bought a Viewsonic 22" (VX2235) monitor from costco. I figured nothing could go wrong. I've always had a high opinion of both companiesGot it home and the picture quality was horrible. Really grainy, looked like the pixels were too far apart to cover the screen. Playing games made the monitor develop tiny black spots all over it, like only 3/4 pixels were refreshing at once and the other 1/4 would just drop out every few seconds. Backlight bleeding was also a big problem. Nothing about the monitor impressed me. Terrible.
So I read that the new 22" Viewsonic with the iPod dock has a better picture. So I moseyed on down to costco again and got that one. I didn't notice any difference, even running the monitors side by side, the only difference is the one with the idock seemed a little better at displaying white. That's it. Same grainy crap.
So, having lost my faith in Viewsonic, I went to a local store and looked at other LCD's. Funny, but I did settle on a Viewsonic, same line of monitors, but just a 20" instead of the 22". Much better.
This thing is gorgeous and doesn't have any of the problems the other two did.
Just wanted to share, so no one else has to go through the pain of buying and returning two LCDs to find one that's decent. :)
