It's slightly under 200 Mb in size, and should run on most x86 based
computers (PC). It still needs to be improved, but most functionalities are
working correctly. It can compile and play inform games and several useful
libraries, including some foreign languages libraries (french, italian,
swedish, spanish, german...), sample games and manuals are on it. Tads,
Hugo and a few more are included too, but since I don't have much knowledge
in them, it may not work as expected.
This live-cd may be used for easing the writing of interactive fiction since
nothing needs to be installed on the computer for starting it, and also
when travelling : only a host computer is needed. The game files and
specific libraries can be imported and exported with floppy, usb keys or
from the hard drive.
nedit and xjed : text editors
xfe : files explorer
aterm : terminal emulator
xpdf : pdf viewer (for some manuals)
dillo : html browser
there are also a tiny word processor and spreadsheet (Ted and abs)
I've tried to send an email to most of the people who created the tools or
games used in it, but if you have created some of them and don't wish to
see them published on this cd, send me an email and I'll remove them in the
next release.
I hope you'll enjoy it, and feel free to send me your comments and feedbacks
about it

I'm spanish and the url of the iso is soooooooooo slow. where's the
host? in france?.
Maybe a good idea is to upload it and all the contents to a if-archive
directory.

Yes, the host is in France. It's a private server it seems (someone kindly
proposed to host this iso), and right now the speed is around 3 ko/s which
is not really fast, but that may depends how the server is loaded at that
time : on a normal dsl connection if it can upload at 12 ko/s and 3 other
people are already d/l, the speed will decrease to 3 ko/s.
If it's possible to upload it on the if-archive and a faster mirror, I'll
contact the administrators. I didn't dare doing it because this file is
slightly bigger than a normal 250 ko zmachine game

Just downloaded it, and it works... nicely... Despite having the abc music
stuff which is unnecessary for this newsgroups subject
It has (direct) also Internet Support (IRC/WWW/FTP), which is good, so you
can upload/download stuff directly from the net also (not only USB storage
devices).
Tell me how you managed to make the linux bootable cd, since i already tryed
something similar (and failed). I extracted all the files (with Alchool120%)
from your ISO file and then tryed to recompile with more games added
(basically ALL the inform stuff i could jam into the cd free space, removing
everything i could which is not related to Inform (TADS/HUGO/etc)), but it
didnt work
Anyone with amule, can search for the file (it's shared in my pc), my emule
nick/user 'Max[PT] RootShell'. it's not faster, but it's another way to get
the live-cd
PS: You SHOULD include the DM4.pdf in the cd (IBG.pdf is already there)
