When I hookup my laptop to my Numark CD mixer I hear a buzz in my speakers. It also causes my mic to cut in and out. Do I need a Preamp? When I unplug my laptop from my mixer there mic works fine and no buzz in speakers.

I'm no expert in audio equipment, but I think there some static build up that's causing your CD mixer to screw around with your laptop. Is everything grounded properly when you plug everything together?
