Due to various reasons I've had to reinstall windows 2k several times, after I'ld finished installing the native windows 2k OS loader now contains 3 entries of windows 2k. Only one of the entries is valid the other 2 point to drives that have even been formatted, I can succesfully rewrite the master boot reccord but can't figure out how to correct the boot sector on c: Short of nuking the entire HDD is there any other option?

If You dont want to edit the boot.ini, and if you are about to start a new clean installation then repartition the hard drive, boot it up with system disk or CD and enter the command : fdisk /mbr
The boot sector will be clean.
