Here's what I have:
2.8Ghz 800fsb with sp-94 heatsink and a really loud fan :)
Msi neo2-fisr
(currently fried ram, but it has lifetime warrenty PC3200)
Raid scsi hard drives
Audigy 2
2001 FP LCD

The temperature of my processor isn't the bottleneck for overclocking my system; it's the ram. I know my system can reach 1Ghz FSB, but that would require some overclocking. With my mobo I can change the FSB in the bios. I would need PC 4000 to reach 1Ghz fsb w/o beating on the ram too hard wouldn't I? Or am I not understanding this right? Could someone suggest some ram that would best meet my needs? Cheaper the better btw.

Yes, you should have PC4000 to do it right, I suggest Crucial Ballistix.

Thanks for your suggestion Crashman. That stuff looks really good. Think I should go for 2 X 512? It looks a bit pricy. I guess I could fit it in the budget. I usually use pricewatch.com to compare prices and buy computer stuff. Anyone know of a good place to buy crucial ballistix at a relatively cheap price?

I'd prefer 2x512. I got mine directly from the Crucial store, http://www.crucial.com/ballistix, of course I didn't have to pay for mine.

Thanks for all the help Crash. I think I'm gonna go with the ballistix. The only downside is the 300 dollar pricetag for the both 512's. Anyone find it anywhere other than www.crucial.com? PC4000 512 ballistix

I think Newegg has it as well.
