:x Okay, I've spent quite a bit of time trying to get my Samsung 225BW monitor (HDCP) to work w/ my Bright House HD-DVR (Explorer 8300HD - Scientific Atlanta). I don't know if I am doing something wrong or not but I am not having any luck. Here's what I am dealing w/:
MONITOR:
(1) VGA Input
(1) DVI-D Input
HD-DVR:
(1) HDMI Output
Since the monitor only has the vga and digital input I attempted to utilize several HDMI to DVI-D cables w/ no luck. I have set the DVR to only accept resolutions of 720p and under since the 225BW is not 1080p compliant but when I hook the cable into the monitor the resolution on the DVR automatically changes to 1080i and I get a message on the monitor that basically says outside of native resolution or something (this box just pops all over the screen like a screensaver). When I disconnect the cable from the monitor or DVR then the resolution on the DVR goes back to 720p. I can't figure it out and I am about to pull my hair out. I was hooking the DVR directly to the monitor w/ no PC attached. If anyone has any ideas as to what the issue could be then I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance!!
