I have a Acer Aspire 9300 laptop. The screen flickers like a strobe light but it does not do it all of the time about 50% of the time. When it is flickering you can barely type. When it is not flickering it all works great. While it is flickering I hooked it to a flat screen monitors and the laptop was still flickering but the monitors I hooked to it work fine. I reinstalled windows vista on it and it still does the same thing. Can anyone please tell me how to fix this problem?

replace video cable inside your laptop, it's most likely cause of the problem (each open/close cycle stresses the cable until it's wires start snapping). you can verify this by slightly changing display angle (tilit it more or less to eliminate flicker). the other possibility is background light for display (display works but light is flickering).
