I have just purchased the E520 desktop with the 20 inch E207WFP Widescreen Digital Flat Panel. As part of my package, I received a DVI cable for my monitor.

However, my computer was not built with a DVI connection. I had to connect the monitor with the VGA connection. I have the Intel GMA X3000 which I understand supports DVI.

Does anyone know if I need any additional hardware (i.e. a graphics card) to take advantage of this feature? Should Dell have built it with a DVI port?

Thanks

"Should Dell have built it with a DVI port"

Come on its a Dell, of course its going to suck.

Does it have a PCI-express slot?

Your onboard video sucks hard anyway.

You will need to purchase a graphic card to make use of the DVI connector.

As far as I know, no motherboard comes with a DVI connector. They only use the VGA for all onboard video.
