I am getting ready to buy a new monitor because a local compusa is going out of business and everything is marked down. I am looking for a 20-22in lcd monitor that is hdcp compliant. my system consists of an e6400 c2d, 2gb corsair ddr2 800 ram, xfx geforce 7900gt, biostar tforce 965pt motherboard and i am running vista ultimate 64bit edition. i am looking to spend no more than $350 but would like to spend less. Any suggestions???

Just check it out in the store and see if you like it....

Check things like how the black level is (how dark is black).
Does the color shift too much from the top of the screen to the bottom or from side to side?

You could also play some movies on it an give it a try.

Also, you might want to look up the model on pricegrabber.com before you buy it as the prices right now are more than you would pay online (even with the supposed discount they already have -- that is if they didn't mark it up before they even added the discount; they have a rather unscrupulous company handling the selling of the products, who told the employees to lie to the customers about the discounting.)

I am about to order a Samsung 226BW and it sounds like something you should look at as well. After a $30 rebate it comes in a few cents under $350 with s&h:

It has superior specs and great reviews:

CompUSA also carries it:

but is not showing it with a rebate.
