Dimm RAM curiousity...

Ok... I have these 168-pin DIMMS I yanked out of a dead server right? and I checked thier p/n #s online to reveal that they are 256MB Dimms... now here's the question, I tried to put them in my motherboard and the little slots arent quite matching up so that the DIMMS dont want to go in. Now, I have noticed that if I apply a LOT of pressure they will go in grudgingly but I dont think they are supposed to.. is there a kind of DIMM that is offset so it wont go in conventional boards? If I file down the little slots without hitting the contacts I am SURE they will fit nicely in the board, but I am curious if they will damage my computer... Hey... I am talking about having (4) of these chips, it would be nice to jump up from my paltry 128mb total ram to 1gb ya know?

also, just out of curiousity, anyone know a motherboard that will take these kind of chips correctly and has a dual slot-1 setup? I have two p-II 300mhz processors that I am thinking of overclocking for the pure humor of it...
