How to connect samsung galaxy y with my pc?

I am using Samsung Galaxy Y.
Kindly tell me how I the said phone with my PC/Laptop?
I have downloaded KIES software but it has not option to send or received text messages.

If your pc/Laptop is wifi enabled then you can connect your phone using an application called AIRDROID for android. Download it from google play store.After installing it turn on your wifi hotspot in your android phone then connect it to pc using wifi. Open airdroid and sign in.After that you will get a IP adress like http://192.******* .Then open browser in your pc and type that ip address and enter the password which you will get from airdroid to login.From this you can share files ,read/send message and also you can install applications through pc in your smartphone.
