Whats The Best 250GB Ext. HD Currently Available

Im in the search for a quality external hard drive of 250GB. I was browsing on Ebay for some but there are so many different kinds and prices. I don't want to guess and pick one of the cheapest ones or one of the most expensive ones and be dissatisfied when I use it.

So far all I know is I want one with: USB 2.0 and firewire capability, 7200 RPM, and 8MB cache for use with WinXP. Another thing I was looking for but didn't find was one which had plug n play capability, like a USB stick, but it seems like everyone needs software to operate.
