I used the Write to CD command in Windows XP for my Outlook Express Address
Book. When I try to import the book on my new computer within Outlook
Express it says it can’t import due to an error. When looking at the
properties on the user.wab file it says it is “read only� and it will not
allow me to change. It says access is denied when I try to change the
attributes. How can I change the attributes so I can use the file? What can
I do to prevent future files from being “read only�? Obviously if you are
trying to save your files you want to be able to read them and edit them
later.

Copy the file from the CD to your hard drive, then import it.
Files copied to a CD are always "read only".

There is a possibility that the file is corrupt. When importing the file it
simply imports the contents it doesn't copy the file to your drive.
