Hi there!

I've been looking in to buying a DLP projector for ages, but I've not been able to find any of the information I'm lookikng for from the manufacturers! So I thought I'd turn to the friendly internet community instead!

I'm really worried about this "rainbow effect". I have a friend who has a projector and I can see the colour strobing really badly! The manufacturers very rarely tell you the colour-wheel speeds, which is daft -- it's essential information I need to make a purchasing decision!

I was wanting to spend about £600/$1000 on a 1024x768 projector and I was hoping to get about 2000-ish lumens, a good contrast ratio and possibley a DVI input (although not essential) for my money, but most importantly, I want the absolute minimum of colour strobing!

What are your experiences with the rainbow effect, and what would you suggest as a best-buy for my budget?

Rainbow effect only..um..effects a small percentage of people. Clearly you are in that group and would go with an LCD projector.
