Looking for something nice and portable 14" screen at the top end
3_What screen resolution do you want?
Top end for the screen size
4_Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
Portable
5_How much battery life do you need?
probably 4 - 5 hours, would like more but I can plug in MOST places I'd be using it.
6_Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
Would like to be able to play current and upcoming MMO titles such as Champions Online and Aion on lower settings, the bulk of my gaming will still be done on my desktop but I'd like the option to play at work as I have a lot of free time.

Music and websurfing.
8_How much storage (H.D.D Capacity) do you need?
250 - 300 Meg would do fine.
9_If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post the links to them.
Have been looking at Lenovo as I'm a fan of the brand. I'm just not positive that the hardware they are using will do the job I want it to. I'm VERY unfamiliar with laptop gaming video cards and such and how they rank.
10_How long do you want to keep your laptop?
I'm not anticipating replacing it very often.
11_If you would like to mention some other things about purchasing your ideal laptop, post them.
There are lots of new options that I see being made available such as "Intel Turbo Memory hard drive cache". Haven't got a clue if it's worth the money or not.
12_Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.
Lots of my friends have had problems with Dell, I've heard a LOT of good things about the Macbooks but I'm not sure if it's worth it since chances are I'll be running windows 95% of the time.
This notebook has a great cpu and a pretty high end resolution for a 14" laptop. Asus is a pretty reputable company and I have never had any real problems with them. Truthfully your budget is very high for mostly websurfing and music. You could probably get a $1000 laptop and still be able to fulfill most of your needs. But with this laptop, you can do quite a bit more if you ever need to. And it should be able to play most games just fine.

Thanks for the reply but maybe I was unclear as to the main purpose of the machine. It will be primarily for gaming hence why my budget is so high. I'm just not really sure how much power you can pack into a 14" form factor...
Hi there
I read the configuration that you submited. Looks like Mac is not gonna work for you since you are using windows 95% of the time. Your friends did not suggest Dell, why is that, if you are concering about the battery life to be honest with you 4 to 5 hours is a lot, for a good battery life we are talking about at most 3 hours, so you should consider that. I suggest Dell, because it is heavy Duty but if you don't like it you can look into HP, Toshiba or even Acer. Go to www.techtobuy.com , it has good deals on these laptop brands and they offer affordable laptops.
Hope it could help
