So what's faster, a hdd with 9.3ms or 8.5ms? i'm looking at getting a little 120gb, and was wondering which was best. also, is there a big differance between a 2 or 8 meg cache?
thanks,

8.5ms is less time than 9.3ms, so of course 8.5ms is quicker. 8MB cache is better than 2MB because it allows more files to be cached, and cache is generally around 100% faster than transfers from media (allong with lower response time). Also, most 8MB cache drives have a 3 year warranty, while most 2MB cache drives only have 1 year.

Everything Crash said is exactly right.

DOn't forget the 5 year warranty from Seagate though. Get a Seagate 120, 8MB cache, 5 year warranty, nice quiet reliable drive.

It'll put a smile on your face.
