I am building an Athlon 64-based system and am thinking of using an Asus K8V SE Deluxe as the motherboard. I want to include 1Gb of RAM. I know that there are issues about the use of double-sided DDR400+ DIMMs with the Athlon 64.

Anyone tried using this board with 2 x 512Mb double-sided DDR400/PC3200 DIMMs in dual channel mode running at 400?

Incidentally, I'm thinking of using Ballistix DIMMs

I think the majority of issues come from using double-sided DIMMs in more than 2 slots, or on VIA chipsets. SiS and nVidia have far superior interactions with AMD's memory controller, I don't know the cause.

Nobody has tried that! Try all you want, that is a single-channel board.
