<pre>I have looked at tvs not projectors but I have noticed the following.
DLP (Samsung)
- seems have more pronounced noise.
- DLP The noise seems rather random (speckle)
- Some people claim this is worse when the whole image moves -- there might be some truth to this
- Is this a electronics problem or a DLP element problem?
(or is is increased contrast?)
PLASMA
- Always seem more fuzzy/less sharp than LCD or DLP.
- Certain sizes are slightly better: Sony/Fujitsu 50.
- 42" is usually worse.
- Bigger cell size probably help 50"
- Scaling the input to the output resolution is another issue, and has gotten better.
- Sony 37 seems to hit a sweet spot; if you dont mind it being small.
but
LCDs
- Seem to have gotten much better in the 50 and above. (sony)
- Cheaper than plasma and cost comparable with DLP.
- Image quality wise, I favor LCDs.
- I would like more info on how LCOS compares.
I dont really expect TV reviews here but the display element and electronics combo is an interesting development.
