1_What is your budget? Up to ~$2000

2_What is the size of the notebook that you are considering? Up to 14", smaller and lighter is better

3_What screen resolution do you want? Highest possible within other parameters

4_Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop? Portable

5_How much battery life do you need? As much as possible =) Ideally 3-4 hours minimum

6_Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)? I'd like to be able to play games with my laptop, but it's not the primary use, I've got a beefy desktop at home and another in the office so would really only be playing games when travelling. That said, something that can run WoW decently would be fine for my uses.

7_What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo / Video editing, surfing the web, playing music, watching movies, Etc.) Multi-Tasking, this is the most important use of the laptop as I'll be running multiple office programs on it simultaneously including some fairly hefty Excel and Access docs. I'd also like to be able to listen to music, play large video files, surf the web, etc.

8_How much storage (H.D.D Capacity) do you need? My needs here are relatively minimal as I'll be using an external storage solution for all of my larger files. Just enough room for my OS, some key apps, and a game install or two should be fine(SSD preferred if I can find a laptop with one of the high quality SSDs)

9_If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post the links to them. N/A

10_How long do you want to keep your laptop? 1-2 years minimum

11_If you would like to mention some other things about purchasing your ideal laptop, post them.
Although I will usually use it on a desk, I would like a laptop that I can actually use on my lap, and I may want to have children someday so nothing too hot.

12_Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.
I have a preference for Intel Processors and suspect I'd prefer a Core 2 chip for this laptop as I've had good expereiences with their performance and reliability.

13_What country do you live in? I live in the UK but will likely purchase a US laptop as I'm a US citizen and do most of my travelling back in the states(that and I prefer a US keyboard =))

I hope this can help people to better find their ideal notebook

I'm leaning heavily towards the XPS M1330 but wanted to post here in case anyone had any other suggestions(or reasons I shouldnt go for the dell).

Hey I would suggest you to go for HP 2510P Core2Duo/U7600. Have a look into this: http://www.checkcost.co.uk/laptops/c/4220/
