I am looking for a laptop. I know about desktop graphics cards but not alot about laptop. What are the best laptop braphics cards and are they still the usuall two playres?

The 280M is currently best.

Single card yes. But the HD4870 only comes in the X2 version and is the top performer until you bring SLI 280's into the mix.

@jdschneid: There are still just the two main competitors, ATI/AMD and NVidia.

I cant agree that GTX 280M is the fastest card availabe because GTX 280M is basically a desktop 9800MGTX.

And as Logan said,HD 4870 comes only in X2 version,which performs like a 4850X2,and 4850X2 is on par with dual 9800MGTX in most games (in some games it takes the lead and in some games nvidia wins)so even 2x GTX 280M cant be the best solution out there :) it will be like a 4870X2 :)
