First, what program is being used to test all the features of the LCD monitors like latency, etc, in the reviews?? I'd like to test my own monitor..
secondd... I could have sworn the samsung 931bw is supposed to be able to do 1440x900 @ 72Hz. Why am I only being allowed 60Hz in the display properties?? I have a radeon 9700. Could that be the limiting factor? Thanks.

Latency cannot really be tested just with a piece of software, since it has to be observed by an external source (like your eyes or a piece of hardware). There are programs that let you look at the latency on your monitor.

As for the refresh rate, it could be monitor drivers getting in the way perhaps, though I don't know. You could check in the Windows display properties if it lets you change the refresh rate there or look for a program called reforce and see if it is able to detect things.
