It seems nearly every day at random the display shrinks horizontally and then unshrinks just a wee bit. Like a brief flash and then its over but a noticeable teeny shrink and unshrink event that occurs on both sides shrinking towards the center of the display.

This is a ViewSonic monitor. Any comments?

Unfortunately I believe my Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 930SB may be dying in a similar manner to your monitor. I recently have noticed that my monitor has begun to occasionally shrink slightly in the vertical orientation and then resize to its original dimension, and I see a white horizontal line that dances above and below the lower aperture grille wire on the display.

Although I have no answer for you, I too would like any input into both of our situations.
