Problems with acer 5740 notebooks

Hello,
When I select the start button it blinks every 5 seconds and will start eventually after retrying for 20 or 30 minutes, any ideas

Sounds like a BIOS issue. Have you been modifying your BIOS?
Try booting into the Safe mode (F8).
If that works, then you probably have a driver issue.
If it reacts the same way as the normal boot, then it's back to the BIOS question.
