hey.. ive just got into a course for animation for which I am looking for a laptop. I think the dell studio xps 16 with the RGBLED screen seems a good choice. Does anyone know howgood tht particular screen is?

No Apple. Any other choices? How much Ram/Processor speeed etc would be reqd for running the usual Animation programs like Maya, 3dxMax and aso Photoshop, Illustrator, Corel Painter and Flash.

Also which is better? Vista 32-bit or 64-bit?

1_What is your budget? ---IndianRs. 100000 ie- 2000 USD

2_What is the size of the notebook that you are considering? --15+/16 inches

3_What screen resolution do you want? ---need a good one cos its for graphics n animation etc, dont know much about these things.

4_Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop? ---Replacement which should be a little portable

5_How much battery life do you need? ---3 hrs atleast?

6_Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)? ---not much of a gamer..

7_What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo / Video editing, surfing the web, playing music, watching movies, Etc.) --animation and graphic design, photo and video editing, net-surfing, music and movies, digital painting.

8_How much storage (H.D.D Capacity) do you need? ---320+

9_If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post the links to them. --- www.dell.co.in

10_How long do you want to keep your laptop? ---3-4 yrs minimum!

11_If you would like to mention some other things about purchasing your ideal laptop, post them. --- hopefully doesnt get too hot and is not too heavy..

12_Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons. ---Dell because I might be able to get a 10% discount here.

13_What country do you live in? India
