I'm looking for some RAM sticks to go with my AMD 64 3200+. I have heard that the AMD 64's require low latency RAM. As a n00b I have no idea what type of memory would be good. Any reccomendations??

Current Spec: AMD Athlon XP2000+, GeForce4 MX440, 256MB DDR, aOpen Mobo.
Specs By End OF October: AMD Athlon64 3200+, Asus X800XT, 1536MB DDR400, Asus A8N-E-Deluxe

Someone isn't telling you the truth. A64s don't necessarily need low latency RAM, in fact P4s gain more from low latency RAM than an A64. Generally with A64 generic RAM is more than plenty.

With A64 the minimal gain you get from the low latency RAM, isn't worth the extra cost.

Quote from above article:

In most of the disciplines, you can see that it no longer matters as much what memory timings you have as it did only a few years ago, when SDRAM or the first DDR generation were still hot. Or, to put it another way, having faster or slower RAM will not tip the balance in favor of or against the latest AMD and Intel processors.
