Looking to buy a new laptop

I will be going to University soon, and I am looking for a laptop to bring with me. I would like to play games on it yet also be able to bring to lectures so it has to be portable. Summary:

1_What is your budget?
Around $2500 but I would like as many suggestions as possible

2_What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
Either a 15", if it's powerful enough, or a 17" if it's not too heavy

3_What screen resolution do you want?
Medium to high

4_Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
Needs to be portable for taking to lectures

5_How much battery life do you need?
I think at least 2 and a half hours

6_Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
Yes, Medium to High settings if possible. Would love it at high settings.

7_What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo / Video editing, surfing the web, playing music, watching movies, Etc.)
Music storage, internet, watching movies, photo editing.

8_How much storage (H.D.D Capacity) do you need?
250GB+

At least 3 years, so long term investment

Am lenient on all points (e.g. battery life can be a bit shorter etc), also as long as I can carry it, I do not mind if it's too heavy.

Do not mind, will buy from anywhere suitable
