I'm looking to upgrade from and Audigy 1 to an audigy 2. You might be wondering why, but I like to have the best sound card behind my speakers since I have Klipsch Pormedia 4.1. I have an onboard AC97 that can be tweaked in really nice, but it has an interference problem with my mobo, so i can't use it(all the Max3's have the same problem, i'm going back to Asus next upgrade). There are like a bazillion different audigy 2 versions. My question is is the Audigy 2 6.1 just as good as the audigy 2 ZS and Audigy 2 7.1's? I know the 6.1 comes with less stuff and does not support 7.1's,but that does not matter to me, I just want to know if they have the exact same sound processor and sound quality.

from what I can see, the Audigy 2 ZS can decode DTS and its variants. DTS might be desireable if the DVDs you own have DTS on them since DTS has slightly better sound quality than Dolby Digital. but if your not an audiophile to the point of insanity, i suppose it wont hurt too much to get the Audigy 2 6.1.
