205bw, BF series, EA Link and other general help. First WS

I just received my 20'' 205bw this morning, it has a native resoloution of 1680x1050 and playing games like HL2 and CS:S is great.

I decided to try and load up BF2142 but it loads up with a black screen, and then crashes to desktop. I dd some forum hunting, I've tried the +szx +szy fix but that doesn't seem to work. I decided to try it with a bunch of other resoloutions but they all have the same result, black screen, crash to desktop. Before this monitor I had a 17'' LCD and it worked fine.

EA Link also seems to be broken in my new widescreen gloryness, in that no games, or anything show up in the lists, at all, If i click home I can see the message of the week but that's about all.

Changing my desktop resoloution back to 1280 x 1024 (my old LCD resoloution) doesn't affect the problem.

That's me fresh out of ideas, and I can't seem to find any other fixes, naturally I came to TGForumz. Please help.


One last thing, will this monitor support a resoloution of 1280 x 720 so I can connect some HD sources such as PS3 and be able to play 720p quality. If no one knows can they point me in the direction of a tool or method of allowing me to force a resoloution, nVidia custom timings isn't working with any resoloution at all, not even 1680 x 1050.
