Hello, so every search im doing tells me that computer only has 2gb capable with 2slots 1gb a piece so i open my computer up and it has 4slots i already installed 2x1gb plus the +the 512mb it came with it picks up. and works nice. my question is could i use 2gb sticks in place the 1gb maxing out at8gb?
computer is: eMachines W3611
Pentium 4 processor 631
Intel GMA 950
2.5gb ram
windows 7 home premium 64bit

If the motherboard is capable of supporting 8 GBs, then you can. My guess is yes! The specs will explain the total RAM capability and what type. Make sure you pay attention to the type of RAM.
