Would it make a diffrence if I run my HD Cable Set-Top with component vs. HDMI, the problem is that a have this box coming but i already have my upconverting dvd player running through hdmi, sowill not runing the box with hdmi effect HD video quality?

It should not matter at all video quality wise if you go component or HDMI. This is because (as far as I know) there is not broadcast station that goes over 1080i right now and component can do 1080i just fine. Just don't expect component cables to do 1080p very well.

There may be a noticeable difference between ultra-high quality HDMI and ultra-high quality component. That is only if you are going to be spending over $100 USD on your cables. If you plan on getting normal 40-60 USD you should not see a difference.
