Hi All,

I have Acer Aspire 5100 laptop with (AMD Turion Processor-2GHz,60GB-PATA HDD, 1GB DDR2).I bought it 2 years back,now it's working fine.
I want to upgrade the laptop. Please tell me upto how much RAM and HDD I can upgrade.
My expectation is HDD - 250GB and RAM - 4GB.

Is it suppot SATA HDD.


Please suggest

the 5100 series should detect 4GB of RAM just fine. Finding a 250GB PATA hard drive for a laptop may be troublesome if not impossible I think most you'll find is maybe a 120 or 160GB

Actually I need some more HDD to install Oracle Application R12 (atleast 160GB).............Acer Service Center informs me that PATA-HDD can be upgraded to 3 times of the current HDD(60GB).........i.e upto 180GB.............I can arrange the PATA HDD with some higher range but don't know the Compartibility with my Laptop................

Anyone any idea, pls suggest me.......whether my Motherboard will support for 180Gb or higher HDD-250GB (PATA)..................
