Hi all :D

As the title of the thread suggests, I'm looking for a complete new set of periherals for my PC.

I've got around £550, though I can increase that slightly if necessary. I don't want to spend this on new components, as the performance of this PC is adequate for me.

I'm currently using a 15" LCD (which I'll probably keep as a secondary monitor), cheapo keyboard/mouse and a cheapish (£20)set of 2.1 speakers (with onboard sound).

The items I'm looking at (probably) are:

20" widescreen monitor
High-end keyboard for both gaming and normal use
High end mouse for both gaming and normal use
A high-end mousepad
Speakers
Possibly soundcard
A gaming headset

Peripherals aren't really my forte, but nevertheless, after some research, I've come up with the following:

Monitor - Dell 2007WFP - £282 - Link

Keyboard - Logitech G11 - £38 - Link

Mouse - Logitech G5 Rev 2 (Refresh) - £52 - Link

Mousepad - I've done very little research into this, but I've been led into thinking that the Steelpad 5L might be a good choice?

Those are the only parts I've done any research on so far - So comments on those, and reccomendations/reviews/sites/group tests for any would be much appreciated.

A little more at what I'm looking for in each:

20" widescreen monitor - My main requirement is a non-reflective coating, as I sit directly opposite a window. I looked at the Dell because it has this, height adjustment and a good picture quality according to reviews.

High-end keyboard - Nothing particularly, though illuminated keys is a good feature.

High end mouse - Well, I'm a "palmer" (I hold the mouse in my palm, rather than using fingers), and have large hands. I'm also right handed. I've initially looked at the G5 rev 2 for a number of reasons; high DPI, on-the-fly DPI adjustment, right handed, 2 buttons, rubberised/textured grip, adjustable weight, corded and I reckon it looks damn nice :D None of those are particularly essential though.

A high-end mousepad - No idea really, I've not researched into this.

Speakers - Obviously sound quality. I've got plenty of room for surround sound if you reckon it's worth it.

Sound card - Again, obviously sound quality (and VFM). Do you reckon this is worth the extra with a decent set of speakers/decent headset?

A gaming headset - Obviously good quality in both sound and microphone.

Well, I think that's the lot (Phew!)

Thanks,

Phil :D
