Wireless phone on broadband?

I have a MN 700 running a small home net. I recently
purchased a wireless phone system (vtech) and on the
manual cover it says "802.11 friendly...will work with
wireless networks." The manual doesn't touch on the
subject otherwise.

Can anyone tell me how to interface a phone with my net?
I can imagine that I could fax from my printer or dial
from my PC. Is this reasonably possible? I have searched
for information without success.

In general, "802.11 friendly... will work with wireless networks" means that
the phone does not use the same frequencies as what 802.11b/g (and/or
possibly a) would use. As such, it *should* not interfere with a wireless
computer network that you are running, hence why it is wireless computer
networking friendly.

If you want to get rid of the phone company, you may want
to look for VoIP -- e.g Vonage.com, 8x8.com, etc. You may
Do a search on VoIP. An alternative for faxing is efax.com,
although typically you can plug-in a fax into a VoIP line.

The "802.11 friendly...will work with wireless networks"
may mean multiple things -- from "interfaces with a 802.11
network" or "minimizes interference with the net." I'm
affraid it may be the later.
