Just got me a set of Logitech X-540s from Futureshop ($64.49CDN after price matching with Best Buy...SWEET deal!) and I want to mount the two back speakers to my wall but the wires aren't long enough. My question is..what sort of extension cords do i need? and what's the price range for them?

If it's only a few feet, just get some cheap speaker wire, making sure to
keep +/- the same. Keep in mind, 7.1 should have 2 behind you but with 5.1
the "rears" should be to the side or just slightly behind you roughly at ear
level when standing.
