That depends on the CPU they are used with.

IIRC, some motherboards perform better with 2x512 in dual channel than 4x256 in dual channel.

Check the reviews on Toms Hardware and Anandtech, you should be able to find the info you are looking for.

2x512 also allows for MUCH easier upgradability. u can add on instead of thowing away 2 :lol:

i would definatly go with the 2x512 and yes i believe that MOST mobos run better with 2 in dual than 4

For the 865/875 chipsets, more banks work better, for nearly everything else fewer banks work better.
