Hmmmmm MSI vs ASUS

I need someone to choose between these three. I need battery life (when not gaming, and good power.

Ok. I like the overclockability of the MSI, because it can clock to 2.8 reportedly, and the ram can also be clocked. There are lots of references, and this is a good gaming company for laptops. Cool. It can either be at the top, or the bottom of the barrel of these three. I really like this one, but i'm not really sure. Can play Crysis on all maxed settings. 9 cell battery,

The G50VT-X6 is in the middle I think, Just that. Middle of the three, but smaller screen and it looks .

Then I saw THE BEAST!!!!! N70SV-X1. It has nearly everything double of the MSI. the hard drive can be doubled in the MSI, but it could cost more. but less references.... and obviously not double processing speed. The fans are located in the back, and the blower isn't as large as the MSI. Even with a cooling pad, I'm worried about the heat warping the boards. If this could overclock,i would be sold. I'm also concerned about the 1st-gen graphics card. reliability and life length can be an issue.

Which will it be?

why that instead of the n70?

i heard sagers are overpriced? on overclock.net, everyone is saying that, as well as reccomending MSI/Sager all over the place

When I bought mine it was by far the best value on the market. Comparable dell and alienware systems were easily 500 more than what I paid. Even if you feel that they are overpriced you easily get what you payed for. Stable systems that perform like they are supposed to with limited amounts of bloatware.

I haven't looked at many msi units, but what I have seen doesn't seem quite on par with sager's stuff. The best gpu I have seen in an msi unit is the hd4850 compared to gtx 280m in top end sager units.

Xoticpc.com allows you to configure laptops from both companies so I would look at their site for price comparisons.

I haven't had much personal experience with msi's laptops so I can't really say what they are like. The website notebookreview.com reviews a bunch of laptops from just about all of the manufacturers. I'd head over there and see if they have anything useful for you.

funny thing- that's the other forum i was talking about....... its saying Dell XPS 16 is #3 for may , and it was #7.


i'm actually thinking of getting one. it only runs a 3670 I think...... how would that fare against what i have chosen? Obviously not as well, but if its so popular...
