I am at a loss to figure out why my new Pioneer DVR-108 takes 44 minutes to burn a DVD-R. I've tried different media, including Memorex 8X that tests at 12x. Nero6 says its burning at 12x but it takes 44 minutes, and it wasn't even full, just under 4gb. All my speed tests look good for my system and the DVR-108 is primary on its own IDE channel with no slave to interfere. The firmware is the most recent 114. Any clue guys?

Hey now, don't everyone offer ideas at once. Luckily, I discovered the problem. The DVR-108 wasn't playing nice with my Promise Ultra 133 TX2 card. I swapped it to my onboard controller and all is good.

Do you mean 44 minutes to Rip and THEN burn... or just to burn? It takes me about 35-45 minutes to do the whole process, which I think is pretty standard. But only about 12-15 minutes of that is actually burning on 4x media. (same drive as you)
